Born March 30, 2006 at 11:32 p.m. We are the proudest parents ever! The name we gave to our long awaited son, Donald Zeraihi Wellman.

March 31, 2006

10 hours later, our family was together. We were so happy to be the parents of this beautiful baby boy! At this time, we decided he would take his first helicopter ride across the city to another hospital. A couple of hours later he was hooked up to the ECMO machine and doing so much better. (All this I was told. I was stuck at the other hospital.)

April 1, 2006

We are reunited, mommy and baby. Pudgy little thing from all the fluids. He's my little marshmallow! Daddy spent all day yesterday with his little boy and now he has his mommy, too. I stayed next to his side more than was healthy for me but all I cared about was letting my son know mommy loved him!

April 2, 2006

Today was filled with so many visitors. More than I could list. I can say, though, that everyone who came to visit our Donny had their heart opened to true, unconditional love. What a strong, little angel. We love you, Donny.

April 3, 2006

What a glorious day! He moved for the first time! His big toe wiggled everytime we touched his foot. From that moment, on, he didn't stop. He so wanted to let us know he heard us. He tried with all his might to stay with mommy and daddy.

He continues to fight, doing better every minute. He has stolen the hearts of everyone!

April 5, 2006

Donny was called to Heaven on this day. He spent his last minutes in the arms of mommy and daddy. He is missed much!
